I am delighted to have held my council seat by what turned out to be quite a comfortable margin and I would like to thank everyone who voted for me.

It is also significant that for the first time (I think) Eastney and Craneswater saw the highest turnout in the city (40.2%).  Drayton and Farlington usually wins that prize by some way with a clutch of wards on the east of Portsmouth battling it out for second place.

The results were:

Eastney & Craneswater - results
Election CandidatePartyVotes%
Luke Edmund Stubbs Conservative 1550 40% Elected
Suzy Horton Liberal Democrat 1104 28% Not elected
Mike George UK Independence Party 574 15% Not elected
Hannah Lillian Wright Labour 372 10% Not elected
Michael Muehl Green Party 255 7% Not elected
Sean Hoyle Trade Unionists and Socialists Against Cuts 47 1% Not elected

Results for all the wards are available here

UKIP shocked us all by winning six seats pushing the council into no overall control. At the time of writing it is not clear what form the new administration will take with discussions between all parties ongoing.
