A new café is to be created in the old electricity substation in Western Parade, at the other end of Southsea. The building has been disused for some time and it will be good to see it brought back into use. The new operators also run the A Bar in Old Portsmouth, so the quality should be good. Provisionally it is to be called The Parade.

There is some sensitivity to the building because the mural that covers part of the exterior was designed by a young woman who died unexpectedly at the age of 27. A plaque will be erected in her memory. Her family are supportive of the project.
